Editorial policy

These are the standards behind every page. They exist because our subject — senior health, money, and safety — is exactly where accuracy matters most.

Sourcing and accuracy

Coverage and eligibility claims are checked against primary sources — the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Medicaid.gov, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and USDA Rural Development — and we link them so you can verify. Cost figures are aggregated estimates, explained in our review methodology. We describe product features plainly and do not make claims about health outcomes.

Dating and review

Every page that carries a number-bearing coverage or cost claim shows a "last reviewed" date. Benefit rules and dollar limits change — often yearly — so we re-check these pages on a schedule, and again whenever VA, Medicaid, or Medicare figures change at the start of a year. As of this writing, our current review stamp is July 2026.

Independence from advertising

Advertising never changes our answers. No manufacturer pays for placement, a ranking, or a review. Where a link earns us a fee, we disclose it near the top of the page — see how we make money. When we compare brands, we describe what we compared them on rather than claiming an independent test we did not run.

Corrections

If something here is wrong or out of date, we want to fix it. Tell us through contact and we will review it, correct it, and update the review date.

Not professional advice

Our content is general information, not benefits, medical, legal, or financial advice. Always confirm your own eligibility and amounts with your plan, your state, or the VA before you act.
